Bayside Cafe in Morro Bay was established in 1986 by Cal Poly graduate Dawn Borst who originally opened the cafe as a walk-up creating the menu from her own recipes. The spot became so popular among the locals and visitors alike that it became necessary to expand to include the casual indoor dining area facing the bay. Diners can also enjoy a leashed-dog-friendly outdoor patio dining area with umbrellas and heaters.
